Premier Cru
Following a hard day’s work, the monks of Cluny used to retire to the Combe aux Moines during the period of the Château de Gevrey-Chambertin’s construction. This plot’s soil, which lies slightly higher up than that of the ‘Cazetiers’, shares its characteristics consisting of fossiliferous clays and white marl. This East-facing plot presents a pronounced incline. The resulting wine, though less rich than the Cazetiers, displays a distinctive added freshness that makes it a deep and exceptional wine.
Area : 1 ha 03 [2,55 Acres]

The nose reveals delightful aromas of fresh red fruit and spices, with subtle hints of wood and smoky notes. Full-bodied and persistent on the palate, it also delivers fruity and woody flavours. An elegant wine, with soft tannins and a finish that leaves a refined impression on the palate.
